Block B: 7-8-Year-Old Classes

In homeschooling we recognize that a grade category doesn’t always fit your child. Some children need a little longer to develop academically or socially.

Students entering this block should be proficient readers. If your child struggles with basic reading skills, consider Block A instead.

Music & Drama

12:20 – 1:05 PM

Class Description: This class is primarily about developing skills in drama, music, and choreographed movement in preparation for this year’s production, Doctor Dolittle, based on the book The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle by Hugh Lofting. Students will put on one main-stage production for family and friends. We will be playing drama games, singing, dancing, and learning how to project our voices, become believable, have stage confidence, and also learn some basic music theory. Students are expected to memorize lines at home, attend the dress rehearsal and the production.

Please note: If students are not able to attend the production for vacation or other reasons they may attend the class, but need to let us know ASAP so they are not casted in a role.

For the first five minutes of class every year we learn something about how God the Creator designed these human vessels. This year we will be learning/reviewing the scientific names of our muscles and bones.

Please note: Students should wear appropriate shoes, and clothes for PE. Sneaker style shoes, and for those girls that prefer dresses, they will need to wear shorts under them. Please bring water bottles to class.
